EX. is a design workshop bridging art, landscape and technology through architecture.
The activity of EX. originates from the work of Andrea Cassi and Michele Versaci, authors of the Corradini Bivouac / Black Body Mountain Shelter and the Berrone Bivouac / Pinwheel Shelter.
Andrea Cassi graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Turin with a thesis on the role of digital technologies in contemporary cities, developed at the SENSEable City Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is actually teaching at IAAD, Torino. He has worked on several projects in alpine environments, collaborating with professionals involved in the construction of bivouacs and shelters. He is a Partner at the design studio Carlo Ratti Associati.
Michele Versaci graduated in Architecture and Building Engineering from the University of Catania and developed an experimental kinetic pavilion at ETH Zurich, receiving several awards and recognitions. He has worked in some internationally renowned offices (EM2N Architekten, Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos, and Carlo Ratti Associati) and now he is leading the strategy and competition unit at Park Associati. He has been teaching at IED Milano and actually is PhD Candidate at Politecnico di Milano, analyzing how the circular economy affects architectural design.
